About Stacie Harris-Clement

I was born and raised in the Bronx as a lifelong advocate for education, empowerment, and emotional well-being. I have a 26-year career with the NYC Department of Education in an elementary school where I am a product of my community. Beginning as a teacher and now an assistant principal for the past seven years, I am committed to fostering a school environment where both students and staff feel seen, supported, and valued. A graduate of Baruch College and Mercy College, I earned my Doctorate in Education from Russell Sage College in 2024, with a dissertation focused on the social-emotional

well-being of adults in school communities. I believe deeply in creating spaces where adults can understand, manage, and honor their emotions—because when adults are supported, children thrive. Guided by the strength of my mother, a cancer warrior who modeled strength, determination, resilience, and courage, I am a testament to the power of courage and compassion. My father was also a cancer warrior. Unfortunately I lost both my parents during my doctoral journey however failing was not an option so I pushed through.

I champion Black-owned businesses, lift up my family and friends, and bring joy to every room I enter—often with a new outfit and a plan for a great event.

I have been married for 17 years and with my husband for 27 years. I am a mom to a thriving 23-year-old daughter. My family is my everything!!

I live by the mantra that life is short—so try everything once, laugh as much as possible, and always celebrate the people around you.
